Jerry and Sarah have been married for six years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they made up their minds to have a family and so they intentionally constructed an especially vigorous social life.

The basic problem, it needs to be highlighted, is that virtually everything they do to have fun somehow includes drinking. For example, all of the family get-togethers, happy hours, dinner engagements, sporting events, and parties with friends they spend time at are associated with drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Begin to Become Aware of Some Clearly Identifiable Alcohol Related Problems That are Correlated With Their Hazardous Drinking

If they were moderate or responsible drinkers, this wouldn’t be such a difficult situation. Due to the fact they drink in an irresponsible manner, nonetheless, they are starting to perceive some instantly recognizable alcohol-related issues in their lives.

For instance, just five days ago Jerry was placed in custody for a third DWI and has been ignoring responsibilities at work due to alcohol-related health problems. Not only this, but Jerry’s last two performance appraisals at work have been less than admirable and he has started to forget what he says or does when he drinks. Finally, Jerry has been going through sleep-related problems and his family has begun to get anxious about his drinking situation.

Sarah, on the other hand, has been feeling unhappy about life in general and to deal with this, she has been drinking more habitually than any time in the past four years. In addition, Sarah has been getting a lot of painful headaches and having agonizing hangovers after drinking. Finally, Sarah has been feeling substantially less energetic in the morning, she has been getting to work late virtually every Monday, and she has been getting some harsh criticism from her relatives, friends, coworkers, and family members about her heavy drinking.

Watching the TV and Inadvertently Discovering A Special Program About the Signs of Alcohol Addiction

One Monday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah inadvertently found an out-of-the-ordinary documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This TV documentary was a real surprise to Jerry and Sarah because many of the alcoholism signs that were listed gave them the impression that they were indubitably associated with some of the alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been suffering through.

A Truthful Discussion About Drinking Activities Brings to Light Alcohol Related Financial, Relationship, Employment, Legal, and Health Problems

After watching the TV special, Sarah and Jerry arrived at a decision to have a truthful conversation about their drinking activities. They both were in agreement that most, if not all, of their social pursuits had something to do with drinking, that they were drinking in an irresponsible manner, and that as a married couple, they were starting to notice alcohol related relationship, financial, employment, legal, and health problems for the first time since they were married.

With thoughts of the TV documentary still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcoholism signs they have been displaying could be a signal that they are addicted to alcohol or maybe becoming addicted to alcohol. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he suggested that they schedule an appointment with one of the therapists at the nearby alcohol abuse rehab clinic to find out more about the gravity of their drinking circumstances.

Coming to Grips With Your Drinking Issues Might Reduce Your Nervousness and Give You A Sense of Calm

Strangely enough, although their drinking behavior hadn’t yet changed, it was clear to see that Jerry and Sarah were at the very least concentrating on their drinking difficulties, they were enthusiastic about finding out more about their drinking situation, and they were interested in discovering how they could appreciably cut back on or eliminate the drinking-related issues that had begun to get worse.

When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that evening, they made up their minds that the next afternoon, Jerry would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the alcohol rehab clinic located downtown. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to prevail over the alcohol-related difficulties that had materialized in their lives, they truly had the best night’s sleep they could recall in the last seven months.

Just before he fell asleep, Jerry turned to Sarah and noted how effortless it is to reduce one’s anxiety and actually experience some tranquility by coming to grips with one’s problems with conviction and making a decision to do something constructive about them.
