Yoga Nidra refers to a specific type of yoga, which allows the participant to enter a deep state of sleep unlike the slumber we experience when we lie down at night. This state happens on a conscious level. In this sleep state, we do not dream. We are alert and aware. This is a conscious relaxation period provoking the delta wave section of the brain.
